Jostedalsbreen across is a three-day expedition on Norway’s largest glacier. An unforgettable experience in a fairytale landscape with views in all directions to the surrounding mountains. A demanding trip with a large packback, tent and mountain skis with traps, and which pays off in memories and a sense of mastery.

The trip’s group have a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 12. I do privat guiding as well both for individuals and groups.
The age limit is 15 years on open trips. Participants must be in good physical shape and healthy, have significant experience on mountain skis and be able to carry a back pack weighing 20 kilograms.
Rendezvous at Flatbrehytta Parkering in Fjærland (see map below). Private buss to Bødalen, Loen or Fåbergstølen, Jostedalen, depending on route and seasonal conditions.
The duration of the trip is three whole days with to nights in tent on the glacier. Day stages are 9 to 12 hours.
The price is NOK 3.500 per person. Payment by invoice ahead of trip.
Our trip will end where the buss picked us up at Øygard Parking by Flatbrehytta.
What to bring:
Tent, sleeping bag and mat, covering sunglasses, shovel, cap, simple kitchen supplies including gas burner or similar device, wind and waterproof clothing, wool thermal layers, buff and warm hat, mountain skis with steel edges and skins, first aid kit, water bottles, thermos, toilet paper and hand sanitizer, sunblock (50+), utilities for repairs, head lamp with sufficient batteries, toiletries, ski goggles.
There is also a list of things can that can be quite useful or just nice to bring with you.
A complementary list of necessary equipment and rations will be provided upon booking or by request.
If there is something you don’t have on the list please tell me and maybe I can bring extra.
I provide the glacier’s equipment for the group. (Hardness, helmet, crampons, rope, ice axe)
